We recently got back from Aruba with some friends. It was a great time! The weather was beautiful.

Everyone told us what a safe place it was and they had virtually no crime. Well....one night we were out for dinner at a second floor restaurant when we noticed police lights outside. We looked out the window and saw what we thought was glass on the sidewalk. Later, on our way out we asked what happened. Turns out what we thought was glass was actually $600,000 worth of Rolex watches! Two men did a smash and grab at gun point! Yikes little too close for comfort.

All and all the local people were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We were later told that the crimes were being committed by outsiders coming via boats.

It didn't ruin our vacation and we had a blast....just very interesting.
